Flappy Fish — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Flappy Fish mobile game (the “App”) published by Jon Bonmateo (the “Developer”) for the Google Play Store.

Summary: The Developer does not collect your personal data such as your name or email. The App now includes third-party advertising (Google AdMob) and in-app purchases (Google Play Billing), which need an internet connection and may collect device and advertising identifiers as described below.

Information We Collect

The Developer does not collect any personally identifiable information. We never ask for your name, email address, precise location, contacts, or photos. However, the third-party services listed below (advertising and payments) may automatically collect certain device and usage information when you use the App.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App saves the following information locally on your device only, using Android’s standard on-device storage (SharedPreferences):

Your high score and game progress
Your coin balance
Which fish skins, auras and other cosmetics you have unlocked
Which in-app purchases you own (so they can be restored)
Your sound on/off and accessibility preferences

This on-device data is not transmitted to the Developer. Uninstalling the App removes it. (Records of purchases are also held by Google Play so they can be restored.)

Internet Access & Permissions

To display ads, the App requires an internet connection. The advertising SDK may use your device’s Advertising ID, and the App declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission for this purpose. The App does not access your camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, or photos.

Third-Party Services

Flappy Fish uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google AdMob (advertising) — shows optional rewarded video ads. It may collect device identifiers, the advertising ID, IP address, and ad-interaction data. See Google Ads and the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Play Billing (in-app purchases) — processes purchases of coins and premium items. Payment is handled entirely by Google; the Developer never receives your card or payment details. See the Google Privacy Policy.

The App contains no other analytics, social, or tracking SDKs beyond those required by the services above.

Personalised Ads and Your Choices

Ads may be personalised based on the information above, depending on your consent and your device settings. You are in control:

On your device: open Settings → Google → Ads (wording varies by manufacturer) to delete or reset your advertising ID, or to opt out of ads personalisation. Ads will still appear, but they will not be personalised.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: the App asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Where required by law or by Google Play’s Families policy, only non-personalised ads are requested.

Children’s Privacy

Flappy Fish is not directed to children under 13. Because the App now shows third-party ads that may collect advertising identifiers, we recommend it for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we comply with COPPA and Google Play’s Families policy. If you believe a child has provided such information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a new “Last updated” date.
